Day 1- Toronto

Day 1 started at about 3:30 AM.  I tried to sleep for a few hours before I left for the high school, but there was too much to do.  Including take a shower and put on clean clothes.  That's important later.  So, as I said before, 43 sleepy kids and showed up to the high school, loaded two school buses with luggage and people, and headed to the airport.  Not a lot of traffic on the interstate between 4 and 5:30 AM, so we got there in a good amount of time, and had some time to wait for kids whose parents wanted to drive them, and the ticket counter to open up.  We took off as scheduled around 7 AM, and had a short flight to Toronto.  Since we were scheduled for a 14 hour layover there, the tour company was nice enought to provide us with a guided tour of the city.  The plan was to walk all over, take pictures, enjoy the beautiful day.  Unfortunately, it was 90°.  So our guide, Patti decided that after lunch at a local mall, we would do kind of a hop on/hop off tour in the air conditioned bus.  It was really interesting, and also really hot.  We arrived back at the airport for our 8:30 flight, which ended up being delayed unil 10:30 because of mechanical issues.  The adults were more panicked than the kids.  We saw it as added stress, they saw it as more time to go get snacks.  We finally took off for Paris, and immediately fell asleep, lol.
