We had a very interesting start to our trip to Venice. At about 11 on Friday, the train suddenly stopped, in the middle of nowhere, and we stayed there for 90 minutes. We never did figure out what happened. We arrived in Venice around 1, and had lunch right away. Venice is beautiful! We went to a Murano glass factory, Jessica and I had a lovely jog across St. Mark's square, ha ha, and went on a gondola ride.
On the gondola, I kept seeing that scene from Life is Beautiful, when they're at the opera. "Belle Nuit" is playing the background, and that's all I could think of.
